Springsteen Pays Surprise Visit to Light of Day

Bruce Springsteen stopped by to play a surprise set at the annual Light of Day concerts in Asbury Park on Friday night. When word got out that he was in town, people scrambling for tickets in Asbury paid upwards of $350 for a chance to see The Boss in his first appearance of 2012. The show literally sold out in seconds.

As this article in Rolling Stone notes, “He’s been to nearly every one since the benefit shows began in 2000, and since the concerts got upgraded from tiny clubs to the Paramount Theater a few years ago, Springsteen’s presence has pretty much been a guarantee.”

Springsteen, along with other Light of Day performers, played until nearly 3AM. The night ended with a sing-along version of “Thunder Road.”
