Play It Again With Squan Sport Shop

Recently, we were tasked with procuring a lefty glove for a 5-year-old who was starting t-ball. We were reminded of Squan Sport Shop, a newly established consignment shop that specializes in sports

and athletics. “Good luck finding one there,” said Coach Lefty, who vividly recalled the torturous task of finding gear as a kid. So, we called sporting good chain stores first.

Hours later, we found a couple of gloves to choose from, with prices ranging from $25-$45. Before setting out, we gave Squan Sport Shop a call. The helpful person on the other end of the phone advised that there were several lefty 10-inch gloves to choose from, and she put some on hold for us. We zipped over and purchased the perfect one — for $8. Ka-ching.

Squan Sport Shop, located in the South Street Plaza in Manasquan, NJ, sells new and pre-owned sporting equipment at very low costs. The goal of the shop is to “Level the Playing Field” so that all kids have the opportunity to play a new sport and experience the magic of being on a team. In
