Anchored in a historic Art Deco landmark at East 24th Street and Madison Avenue, Eleven Madison Park delivers a dining experience as bold and refined as its iconic surroundings. Overlooking Madison Square Park, this acclaimed restaurant has flourished under Chef Daniel Humm, earning four stars from The New York Times and three Michelin stars. What We Enjoyed

We began our meal with freshly baked olive bread laminated with sunflower butter, a subtle first impression. The tasting menu that followed was carefully composed and thoughtfully presented, incorporating fresh, seasonal ingredients mainly sourced from Eleven Madison Park’s own farms in New York and New Jersey.

We savored each bite of the courses that followed. It opened with a smooth and subtly sweet corn velouté, followed by a vibrant tomato and lettuce trio featuring a celtuce cocktail with shishito and jasmine rice, lettuce layered with almond ricotta, and an heirloom tomato salad topped with sansho leaf.

Next came silken tofu with summer squash, paired with an aromatic and warmly spiced vadouvan curry. This was followed by a smoked potato served with land caviar and a floral accent from chive blossoms. The meal continued with a creative and balanced poblano pepper filled with seitan and corn, highlighting plant-based depth.

For dessert, we enjoyed a light and satisfying berry cheesecake topped with delicate meringue and white currant. The final bite was a playful and unexpected sesame pretzel with chocolate, perfectly concluding the experience.

The tasting menu reflects a strong emphasis on locality and simplicity. Ingredients sourced from nearby farms take center stage, allowing vegetables to shine without feeling overly conceptual or forced. The kitchen operates with the precision and discipline of a classical French brigade system, ensuring consistency and calm rhythm throughout the evening. Service is professional and attentive, striking a balance between formality and warmth.

For those interested, wine pairings are available and thoughtfully curated to complement each course. The sommelier team is approachable and knowledgeable, ready to guide both seasoned wine drinkers and curious newcomers.

Fine Dining Tips

If you’re planning your first visit to Eleven Madison Park, here are some helpful tips:

  • What to wear. While the setting is elegant, the dress code isn’t overly formal. Cocktail attire or elevated casualwear works well.

  • Enjoy the pacing. Tasting menus typically unfold over two or more hours, so there’s no rush.

  • Ask questions. The staff is knowledgeable about ingredients and techniques and welcomes curiosity.

  • Be open-minded. Some dishes may feature unfamiliar ingredients or combinations, but trying everything is part of the experience.

  • Unplug a little. Photos are allowed, but the setting encourages being present and engaged.

  • Share dietary needs in advance. The restaurant is flexible, but advance notice ensures accommodations.

A Notable Menu Change

Starting October 14, 2025, Eleven Madison Park will introduce a new menu format, offering diners a choice between two tasting menus: one entirely plant-based and another that includes select animal products such as fish, meat, and the restaurant’s signature honey-lavender-glazed duck.

This marks a shift from the restaurant’s exclusively vegan approach adopted in 2021 following the pandemic. The change reflects a broader effort to balance environmental values with guest preferences while maintaining a focus on seasonality and responsible sourcing.

Exploring the Neighborhood

Arrive early enough to the City and you can take a walk at the nearby High Line, an elevated park built on a former rail line, perfect for a stroll to explore the city from a different perspective.

Also close by is the Morgan Library & Museum, which houses an impressive collection of rare books, manuscripts, and art. Visitors familiar with The Personal Librarian by Marie Benedict and Victoria Christopher Murray will especially appreciate exploring the legacy of Belle da Costa Greene, the pioneering personal librarian to J.P. Morgan. These local experiences add extra layers to your evening, making the entire outing feel like a true immersion in New York’s spirit.

Stepping Into Serenity and Skill

Despite the City’s fast pace, stepping into Eleven Madison Park brings an immediate sense of calm. The atmosphere is calm, cool and collected, inviting you to settle in and watch a team of true professionals quietly delight the senses.

This Michelin-starred restaurant is known for its innovation and high standards in New York’s dining scene. Combining a sustainable culinary approach with attentive service and flavorful foods, Eleven Madison Park offers a refined, memorable experience. In a city with many excellent options, it is a stand out.

Until next time, peace.
