107.1 The Boss hosted its 8th annual Mistletoe Rock Radiothon today to raise funds for JBJ Soul Kitchen. The live broadcast highlighted the organization’s mission to provide nutritious meals to anyone in need.
Programming aired from JBJ Soul Kitchen’s Red Bank and Toms River locations, as well as from Freehold Raceway Mall. The broadcast highlighted stories from diners and volunteers while illustrating the impact of community support. Visitors at each site enjoyed activities as the broadcast demonstrated how donations help provide meals for those facing food insecurity.

Donor Support and Special Initiatives
In the lead-up to the Radiothon, the first 100 donors contributing $107 or more received limited-edition Mistletoe Rock Radiothon T-shirts, with a few autographed by Jon Bon Jovi. Local businesses also participated through tiered donation programs, including $500 contributions for team meals, $1,000 contributions for on-air business promotions, and $5,000 “Community Power Hour” sponsorships featuring additional radio exposure and matching-gift challenges. An online auction offered memorabilia and experiences, including signed merchandise and concert tickets.

Addressing Food Insecurity
JBJ Soul Kitchen continues to meet growing demand, having served more than 225,000 meals overall. In 2023, 63% of diners across all locations identified as food insecure. In the first half of 2025, Red Bank saw a 15% increase in meals served to those in need.
Rising food costs and reductions in federal programs have increased demand for JBJ Soul Kitchen’s services., which also provides meals and support during Code Blue season for people staying in warming centers.

Keep the Spirit Going
The Radiothon emphasized how community support helps the JBJ Soul Kitchen continue its mission and connect neighbors in need with essential resources. Even when the live broadcast ends, donations can still be made by clicking here.
Contributions, whether through Pay It Forward meals, one-time donations, or volunteer service, help keep the restaurant open and meals available for those who need them most.
Until next time, peace.
