Now in its 13th year, the Light of Day concerts in Asbury Park are taking place this Thursday, January 17 through Monday, January 21, 2013. Kicking it off is a Rock ‘n’ Bowl night at Asbury Lanes. Multiple events are scheduled throughout town, including the Stone Pony, the Wonder Bar, the Saint, the Paramount, McLoone’s Ocean Grille, the Langosta Lounge and Watermark. Music will include rock ‘n’ roll, acoustic songwriters’ circles, Broadway show tunes, family music and open-mic.
The Light of Day charity event raises funds for research into better treatments, cures and support for patients suffering from Parkinson’s disease and related illnesses. The Asbury Park shows in 2012 raised nearly $300,000.
