Grab Your Telescope. Uranus is Visible this Weekend!

Jersey Shore Style Uranus Sky 2012

This Saturday, at around 1am, the planet Uranus will be at its highest point in the sky, directly opposite the Sun. Since the moon is shining, however, Thursday, or within the week, may be the best time to properly view the planet.

A telescope is the best way to view Uranus; with binoculars, the planet will only look like one of the stars. If you don’t have a telescope at home, N.J. boasts a number of planetariums and observatories to visit. Be sure to check the schedules ahead of time.

Shine on!
