This Sunday is the Academy Awards and the ShowRoom at Asbury Park is making it a weekend event. Starting tomorrow (February 25), the ShowRoom will be playing all of the short films nominated for Oscars. Saturday will be animation (at 1pm) and live action (at 3pm), while Sunday will be documentaries (11:30am). Call the ShowRoom at 732-502-0472 for more information.
New Jersey Native (Summit to be precise) Meryl Streep is nominated for Best Actress for her role as Margaret Thatcher in “The Iron Lady.” Streep hasn’t won an Academy Award since 1981, although she’s been nominated over 10 times since. The Asbury Park Press has a great article on her acting objectives and how she enjoys playing “difficult women.”
