Summer Weddings and the Jersey Shore: Perfect Together!

Those of us who grew up and live in New Jersey know there is nothing better than going “down the shore” when the weather turns warm. As winter turns to spring and couples begin to plan their weddings, why not consider the Jersey Shore as your wedding destination!

First, you need to get your “save the date” cards. This will let all your loved ones know you are going to tie the knot and you want them to be a part of it! Start your shore wedding planning right from the beginning by giving your save the date cards a beach look. Check out the wide variety of save the date cards by Wedding Paper Divas and consider using a favorite photo of the two of you on the boardwalk or on the beach.

A great place to start with your shore wedding planning is the Jersey Shore Wedding Association. There you can find a variety of different vendors that specialize in giving your event that shore flair. For example, Shore Chic in Keyport has a wide variety of shore-themed favors. Sea shell picture frames or tea light candle holders in the bridesmaid dress color are great favors to always remind your guests of that great shore wedding you held.

If you have family and friends coming from a distance, make sure to reserve a group of rooms at a local bed and breakfast so they can both attend your wedding, but have an opportunity to see what makes the shore so great! Think about having a “welcome gift” for each person coming from afar. Fill it with cute flip flops, sun screen and use a sand pail for presentation!

When it comes to picking out a bridal gown

, bridesmaid’s dresses, or the groom’s tuxedo, check out Island Bridal with locations in Manahawkin and Aberdeen. As a shore-based business, they understand what it means to have a sea side wedding and can give you the guidance you need on the latest wedding fashions and accessories.

Choose a reception place near the water so you and your guests can appreciate the beach! When planning your photography, consider taking a few photos right on the beach. Local, Jersey Shore photographers are accustomed to arranging for beach photos and can guide you through how to get the best shots.

When you look back on your wedding years later, you want to remember a wonderful time and how the ceremony and reception reflected who the two of you really are. By having your wedding at the Jersey Shore, you get to sharing your love with the beautiful shore and with those who mean the most to you.
